"Each piece is not merely a product or just another item on the production line. Each piece is a statement by the heart, mind and soul."
-Yours Truly-
Sowmyalakshmi is a full-time history nerd, bookworm and environmentalist, but her official description lists her as an 'international textile artist who is all for exotic and skill-based art'. She has a Masters in Chemistry, Bachelors in Education and a Diploma in Fashion Designing. She has trained under many artists and craftsmen before setting out on her own.

With a whopping 25 years of experience in the doll-making game and multiple awards under her belt spanning a silver in the 'Quilted Creations' in Quilt Show, Dubai 2020, another silver in the same in The Festival of Quilts, Birmingham 2021, and a Judge's Choice in the latter again circa 2023, and audiences in the Visvesvaraya Museum of Bangalore, the prestigious India Art, Architecture and Design Biennale in Delhi, 2024 and in all editions of the International India Quilt Show, a silver in the International Quilt and Fiber Arts Festival, USA, circa 2024, she has a vision set beyond simply creating products off-the-shelves, and specializes in easy-to-maintain, useful, and sustainable masterpieces.
Her aides are women from disadvantaged sections of society, employed with the guarantee of a stable and reasonable monthly income. Despite her scientific background, she found herself at home in art, innovation and culture. Her life journey of being a misfit to discovering her gifted nature that has been passed on to her children and accepting it, has led, to her blooming. Her goal is "let us be co-travelers of life". When art perpetuates into life, not only does the makers life become beautiful, but the buyers' lives become beautiful too.

Here at our enterprise, we have worked on sustainably designed clothing, fabric art, collectibles, accessories and gifts for every occasion over the years. "Virgin Waste" (unused excesses), decide the design and path. What started as Sowmya's passionate home-based effort in the cradle of 2008 now has her art (Sowmyalakshmi) and collaborative, utilitarian work by our team (Meow's Collections and Paanchaalika) of women who pay their bills with what they earn with joy.
